Raise the Roof! is Framework’s first music, film & performance festival. We’re making a big noise about homelessness at venues in and around Nottingham throughout October 2011, as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations.

The aim of the festival is to entertain with some great artists and performances, increase understanding of homelessness and what Framework is doing to tackle it; and raise much-needed funds in a time of severe cuts.

Our programme has something for everyone. Here are some highlights:

Contemporary Music Weekend – Two days of progressive electronica, jazz, soul and music of international origin.

Films, discussion and music at the Broadway cinema (part of Mental Health Awareness Weeks)

Stephen Lowe’s Seance on a Sunday Afternoon with a discussion at Lakeside Arts Centre (part of Mental Health Awareness Weeks)

Stories – A photographic portrait exhibition by photographer James Gardiner of people who have benefitted from Framework

A symphony concert by the Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra at the Albert Hall

Jazz pianist Joonas Haavisto at the Theatre Royal

The rich mix of musical genres continues with gigs and DJ nights at The Approach, Bodega, the Bread & Bitter, Bunkers Hill, The Golden Fleece, The Lion, Basford and Spanky Van Dykes.

Beyond Nottingham there’s also a band day at The Old Coach House and the Hearty Goodfellow in Southwell. And beyond the world of culture and entertainment we present the Raise the Roof! Bike Fest.

Admission is free except where indicated but come prepared for bucket collections.
